Install

Keep it running

Updated

The installer sets Filamama up as a service that starts on its own and restarts the server if it crashes.

macOS

A launchd agent, ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.diune.media-server.plist. An agent runs while its user is logged in: on a Mac mini that serves the house, turn on automatic login for that user. Logging out stops the server; locking the screen doesn't.

launchctl print gui/$(id -u)/com.diune.media-server | head -20 # status
launchctl kickstart -k gui/$(id -u)/com.diune.media-server # restart

The log is ~/Library/Logs/Diune Media Server/server.log.

Linux

A systemd user unit, ~/.config/systemd/user/diune-media-server.service. A user unit stops when the user's last session ends unless lingering is on. Turn it on once, and the server starts at boot whether or not anyone is logged in:

sudo loginctl enable-linger $USER
systemctl --user status diune-media-server # is it running?
systemctl --user restart diune-media-server # restart it
journalctl --user -u diune-media-server -f # follow its log

Folder and service names still use Filamama's working name, diune-media-server. They'll change before the first release.
