Backing up Android phones with Piktures: pairing, how a backup works, deletions, removing a phone, the dmsp command line, and the server's own backups.

Pair an Android phone with Piktures and a QR code, good once for ten minutes.

The phone asks first, sends only what's missing, and picks up at the exact byte where it stopped.

Deleting a photo on the phone deletes nothing on the server, unless that phone mirrors deletions to the trash.

Removing a phone under Devices stops it at once; what it backed up stays.

dmsp pairs, backs up a folder and checks the server from a terminal, on the same protocol as the phones.

The database is backed up every day at 03:00, keeping the last five. Back up the originals and the key yourself.
