- Pick the computer. A Mac mini, a Linux machine with systemd, or the Spark, that stays on at home. See Which computer.
- Install the server. Install Node.js 26 or newer and ffmpeg, then run the installer. It builds Filamama and sets it up as a service that starts on its own. See What you need, then the guide for your Mac mini, Linux machine or Spark.
- Open it in a browser. Go to
https://<the machine's address>:5400from a browser on your home network. The first visit creates the administrator. See Your first visit. - Pair a phone. In the web app, Devices › Pair a phone shows a QR code. Scan it with Piktures on the Android phone. See Pair a phone.
From then on, the phone backs up on its own whenever it's home, and everyone you give an account to can browse their library.
