On a Mac
- Down after a power cut. FileVault is probably on, so the Mac waits at the login screen. Log in, or set up automatic login: see Install on a Mac mini.
- Stopped at logout. The service runs while its user is logged in. Locking the screen is fine; logging out stops it.
- Restart it:
launchctl kickstart -k gui/$(id -u)/com.diune.media-server. Its log is~/Library/Logs/Diune Media Server/server.log.
On Linux
- Stops at logout. Lingering is off:
sudo loginctl enable-linger $USER. - Check and restart:
systemctl --user status diune-media-server, thensystemctl --user restart diune-media-server. Read the log withjournalctl --user -u diune-media-server -f.
After a Node.js upgrade
When Node.js moves to a new major version, run packaging/install.sh again: the server's database module is built for the Node it was installed with. See Update and uninstall.
