Videos play in the browser. When a browser can't play a video, the server makes a playable copy in H.264:
- On a Mac, with the Mac's hardware video encoder.
- On Linux, with ffmpeg's H.264 encoder (libx264). On Fedora, the built-in
ffmpeg-freehas none: use the full ffmpeg from RPM Fusion, as the Linux install says.
The original stays as it was. Playable copies and video posters are part of the preview cache (20 GiB by default), made again from the originals when needed.
Filamama is for the videos your family takes. It doesn't organise movies, TV shows or music.
